This report is the inaugural publication in LAEDC’s 2026 affinity report series. It documents Black leadership as regional infrastructure across Los Angeles County, demonstrating how Black institutions, public leaders, entrepreneurs, and cross-sector partners build and align durable systems that shape economic outcomes.

As the foundation for the series, this report connects lived expertise to measurable regional strategy across workforce, business growth, recovery and rebuilding, research, and global engagement. It reflects a central premise: coordinated Black leadership does not operate in isolation. It creates solutions, mobilizes capital, and builds scalable systems that sustain regional prosperity.

Read together, the full series will provide a comprehensive view of how Los Angeles County’s communities contribute distinct leadership and collective power to the County’s economic present and future.
