At the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), we believe that our region’s greatest challenges can only be solved when we work together. As a trusted convener and catalyst for transformational change, we bring together a diverse coalition of partners from across the public, private, non-profit, academic, labor, and community sectors. Our Convene, Solutions, and Implementation framework is a structured and inclusive approach to tackling complex economic issues and building a more prosperous, equitable, and resilient Los Angeles for all.
The Power of Convening: Uniting for a Common Purpose
As a “Coalition of One,” we serve as the central hub for regional collaboration, creating a forum where all voices can be heard and valued. We leverage our deep expertise and extensive network to unite stakeholders around a shared vision for economic growth. Our convening efforts are organized through a variety of platforms, including:
- Industry Councils: We facilitate industry-led councils in key sectors such as Aerospace & Defense, Biosciences, and Sports & Entertainment, to address shared challenges and opportunities.
- Strategic Initiatives: We lead and support collaborative initiatives such as the LA Regional Collaborative for the California Jobs First program, which brings together over 700 organizations to develop and implement a regional economic development plan.
- Affinity Groups & Convening Series: We host regular convenings for groups such as the LA Consular Corps, Regional EDO Collaborative, to foster dialogue, build relationships, and drive collective action.
Developing Data-Driven Solutions
Our collaborative process is grounded in data and evidence. Through our Institute for Applied Economics, we provide objective research and analysis to inform our strategies and ensure that our solutions are tailored to the unique needs of our region. We work with our partners to:

- Create actionable plans with clear goals, metrics, and timelines.
