US international relations depend on LA – WTCLA participates in trade mission to Asia

World Trade Center Los Angeles President Stephen Cheung meets with US Ambassador to Japan William F. Hagerty in Tokyo

As Washington becomes increasingly hostile to international trading partners, the work of World Trade Center LA has become increasingly important, to nurture foreign direct investment into the Los Angeles region and make progress on trading relationships that support jobs in LA.

More than ever, it is clear that California and Los Angeles are different from the rest of the United States, as we continue to demonstrate our region welcomes these international partnerships.  This welcoming stance also highlights the amount of international diversity throughout LA County, which creates a productive environment for overseas businesses which choose to locate and invest here.

From July 23 to August 1, The World Trade Center Los Angeles supported and participated in a successful 10-day Trade Mission to Asia led by LA Mayor Eric Garcetti. Garcetti, LA City Councilmembers Joe Buscaino, Paul Krekorian and David Ryu, Deputy Mayors William Chun and Nina Hachigan, City of LA commissioners and staff, and a Los Angeles Business Delegation traveled to Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and Hong Kong in order to strengthen long-standing relationships and promote investment and tourism in the City of Los Angeles.
