AI Innovation Challenge: Shaping the Future of Los Angeles

The rapid development and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is fundamentally changing the way people live and work. To adapt to these changes and remain competitive in the workforce, it is critical for job seekers, particularly those from underserved and disinvested communities, to develop an understanding of AI and how to apply it in their chosen careers.

The LAEDC Workforce Development team has partnered with Microsoft Philanthropy to provide over 2,500 job seekers in LA County with the opportunity to gain a foundational understanding of AI through Microsoft’s LinkedIn Learning course: Career Essentials in Generative AI. This initiative is particularly focused on helping job seekers and students from BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), underserved, and historically disadvantaged communities (based on race, gender, economic situation, political crisis, etc.).

All participants who complete the course and send LAEDC their Certificate of Completion will receive a free year of LinkedIn Premium to assist them in their job search and career-building efforts. Participants must be 16 years or older to qualify.

How to Participate

  1. Log in to your LinkedIn account or create a LinkedIn account (must be 16+ years old).
  2. Take the Career Essentials in Generative AI course by Microsoft and LinkedIn.
  3. Send your Certificate of Completion to [email protected].
  4. After completing a short survey, you will receive a free year of LinkedIn Premium.
