October 17, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Please join a small group of Los Angeles workforce system stakeholders- including WIBs, designated sector intermediaries, LA Area Chamber and other business leaders, labor representatives, our community colleges, etc. – to participate in a critically important, but time-sensitive, working group effort with the singular goal to develop and quickly issue our recommendations to the DOL for the rules to implement WIOA – a draft of which will be released in January 2015.
As the second largest workforce system in the nation, it’s time for our region to come together and employ its collective force to influence WIOA rulemaking in a way that  serves the unique needs of our regional economy and its diverse set of industry clusters, ranging from Aerospace and Automotive to Transportation and Logistics to Biomedical and Health Services to Hospitality and Tourism!

Please note this will be a working meeting, which require preparation beforehand. Those participating should be familiar with the Act (linked) and come prepared with concrete and specific recommendations for DOL in terms of the rulemaking process and actual rules to operationalize the Act. There will be no overview provided and participants will be asked for continuous participation.
