The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), through its Institute for Applied Economics (IAE) and World Trade Center Los Angeles (WTCLA), is proud to release Partners in Prosperity: Australia’s Investment in Southern California.
The report highlights the scale and impact of Australian foreign direct investment in the region, with 210 Australian-owned enterprises supporting more than 5,100 jobs and generating over $600 million in labor income. It details sectoral strengths in wholesale trade, professional services, manufacturing, and finance, while also spotlighting leading companies and case studies.
Future opportunities are explored in advanced manufacturing, clean energy, technology and biosciences, and sports and entertainment, underscoring the alignment between California’s policy priorities and Australia’s global ambitions.
This study was commissioned by the Consulate General of Australia in Los Angeles and demonstrates the depth of the California-Australia partnership and its growing role in shaping the region’s economy
