What Effective Giving Must Strengthen Now.

Los Angeles’ nonprofit sector is a major economic and community engine, but the organizations communities rely on are being asked to respond to growing needs with increasingly constrained resources.

At LAEDC’s December Board of Governors meeting, nonprofit and philanthropic leaders will look beyond programs and services to examine what effective giving must strengthen if nonprofits are going to meet the moment, including leadership, staffing, financial resilience, internal systems, and the ability to work across organizations.

The conversation will explore what giving should make possible.

For Los Angeles’ business and civic leaders, the question is not simply why giving matters, but what effective giving needs to support.
