Ellie Casson is Waymo’s Head of City Policy and Government Affairs.

Waymo began as the Google self-driving car in 2009, and is designing the Waymo Driver, an autonomous vehicle that provides a safe and easy way to get around without the need for anyone in the driver’s seat. This week, Ellie joined LAEDC’s all-staff meeting to share about Waymo’s work deploying autonomous vehicles, and her experiences as a woman in tech. We’re thankful for Ellie’s collaboration and leadership.

Prior to joining Waymo, Ellie served on the Public Policy Team at Airbnb, as Congresswoman Anna Eshoo’s Campaign Manager, and as a Community Organizer for the environmental organization Greenbelt Alliance.
