Los Angeles is a design capital in many industries.  There are 22 automotive design studios in Los Angeles working on the major car brands, there is a very active fashion design industry, there are set designers and costume designers in the entertainment industry, there are furniture designers, architects and interior designers, and more.  There is a large creative economy that the LAEDC has identified and analyzed which includes many design professions in L.A. County.  There are several well-recognized design colleges in L.A. County.

These professions drive the success of many businesses, with ripple effects around the globe.  There is a culture of freedom in L.A. that contributes to design freedom and a willingness to embrace new and edgy concepts.  For businesses that rely on design talent, L.A.
