Spark Grant for Immigrant Entrepreneurs in California

Do you want to start your own business? Has your immigration status or lack of language proficiency gotten in the way of your dreams? Do you need seed money to start or grow your business?

SPARK offers $5,000 – $10,000 grants to eligible applicants. Learn how to leverage your skills, knowledge and experience to make money through freelancing or starting your own business.

Through the SEED initiative, Spark is offering funding to California residents who are starting or growing a business/nonprofit in California that addresses a social problem or community need.

SEED APPLICANTS MUST IDENTIFY WITH ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Limited English proficiency, regardless of immigration or citizenship status;
  • Non U.S. citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents (green card holders). This includes individuals who may not be lawfully present in the United States, and individuals who have been granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or Temporary Protected Status (TPS).

IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR FUNDING, YOU MUST:

  • Register on website
  • Complete the Training Registration
  • The grant application will not be available until these steps are completed.
