Net Zero Accelerator from USGBC-LA accepting #GreenBuilding startups

JUNE 21 DEADLINE:  US Green Building Council-Los Angeles is accepting 10 pilot-ready startups with green building technologies into a new Net Zero Accelerator in Los Angeles.  The deadline for applications has been extended one week to June 21st, 2019.  This economic development program will help 10 selected business grow, create jobs, and solve sustainability challenges here in LA, and then those technologies may be exported to add to LA’s global competitive advantage in sustainability technologies.

As explained on the new Net Zero Accelerator website, “We’re seeking 10 of the most promising solutions for this free, 6-month acceleration program launching in July.  Our focus is on technology that creates net zero carbon and waste, and uses net zero energy and water. Our promise is to bring targeted expertise, broad awareness, and high-potential to pilot projects at regional building sites with marquee partners in order to remove roadblocks and speed market adoption.

Green building policy has advanced, especially here in California. Existing technology in use at most buildings has not. Yet, innovation is happening despite the status quo. The Net Zero Accelerator was born to bridge this gap between policy and practice, with committed green building leaders ready to act now.”

The Accelerator launched this week, with director Neal Anderson (co-founder of LACI) and other USGBC staff in support.  LAEDC encourages you to let local businesses know about this opportunity, which will help the selected businesses deploy pilots, grow and succeed.

Thus far, over 20 organizations have committed their early engagement by providing expertise, funding, pilot sites, and more.
