Michelle Garakian currently serves as a member of Mayor Eric Garcetti’s business team and liaises to the tech and cleantech communities. In this role, she works to find business solutions, big and small, to various challenges and turns lessons learned into macro business policy to enhance the City’s tech and cleantech ecosystems.
Michelle Garakian is the former Vice President for the Los Angeles Business Council (LABC), a prominent business organization that advocates on behalf of economic and environmental sustainability. In this role, Ms. Garakian coordinated all legislative and policy activities and administrated the Council’s successful marquee Summits, forums and workshops.
Prior to joining the LABC, Ms. Garakian worked and studied in Cairo, Egypt. And prior to living abroad, Ms. Garakian served for two years under Los Angeles Mayor James K. Hahn in the Mayor’s office of Economic Development.
Ms. Garakian received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and attended the American University in Cairo. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, Cleantech Los Angeles and the Eagle Rock Yacht Club.
