Felicia Marcus Discusses Drought with LAEDC Water Subgroup Committee

Chair to the California State Water Resources Control Board, Felicia Marcus and LAEDC members met July 29th for an engaging discussion of the drought, it’s economic impact and potential solutions to long term water use issues facing Los Angeles County, as part of the LAEDC Water Subgroup Committee.  The meeting was well attended and LAEDC would like to thank Felicia Marcus for making time to meet with civic stewards from our region, listen to concerns, and share strategic plans.

On a related note, as LAEDC continues to facilitate public meetings to gather input for the 2016-2020 Strategic Plan for Economic Development, the East LA public meeting was conducted on July 29th and a number of people discussed the goal of adding public infrastructure to capture and re-use stormwater, rather than let it drain into the ocean.  This was part of a broader discussion of infrastructure needs for the future economic vitality of the region.
