Message from LA County Supervisor Don Knabe:

“Last week, I was in Washington, D.C. with other members of the Board of Supervisors for a week of meetings with our local congressional delegation and other federal officials.

Compared to my previous visits to our nation’s capital, there was less finger pointing and more calls to work together on a bipartisan basis to address the issues impacting Los Angeles County and the surrounding region.

I met with the Air Force officials at the Pentagon to discuss the importance of keeping Los Angeles Air Force Base where it belongs in El Segundo. I also met with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to discuss how Rancho Los Amigos can help alleviate backlogs and provide rehabilitative services to veterans. We also discussed efforts to combat child sex trafficking with Senators Dianne Feinstein and Ted Poe.

You can watch recaps of my week in Washington D.C. here: Day 1, Day 2, and  Day 3
