LAEDC 2008 Mid-year Economic Forecast and Updates

In addition to the Mid-year Economic Forecast updates, the LAEDC and its subsidiary, the World Trade Center Association Los Angeles - Long Beach, will also unveil the final report of the LAEDC's Foreign Direct Investment Study, highlighting the economic impact to the regional economy. 2 panels of experts to include: James Dibbo, British Telecom; John Burns, John Burns Rela Estate Consulting; Richard Weiss, City National Bank; Vance Baugham, WTCA LA-LB; and Jack Kyser, LAEDC.

6:30 p.m. Cocktail reception and silent auction. 7:30 p.m. Dinner and program. At the Beverly Hilton, Beverly Hills.

Confirmed honoree: Rick Caruso, developer of The Grove and the Americana. Now accepting application for the Most Business-Friendly City Award in L.A. County.

The Eddy Awards® is a cocktail, dinner, and awards gala to support fulfillment of the LAEDC mission to attract, retain, and grow businesses and jobs for the regions of Los Angeles County. The Awards were introduced by the LAEDC in 1996 to celebrate individuals, organizations, and now cities that demonstrate exceptional contributions to positive economic development in the region.

The Great Southern California ShakeOut is a week of special events featuring the largest earthquake drill in U.S. history, organized to inspire Southern Californians to get ready for big earthquakes, and to prevent disasters from becoming catastrophes.
