Candice F. Hynek

Associate Economist

Candice Hynek manages LAEDC's economic research projects. She tracks and prepares reports on major business expansion development and is the project manager of LAEDC's Roadmaps to Industry Clusters in Los Angeles County publication and in the past LAEDC's Essential Business Resource Guide. She has developed specialized knowledge about the structure of many important industries in the Greater Los Angeles region.

Ms. Hynek analyzes and manages several national, state, and local economic data for LAEDC and works directly with the Chief Economist and Senior Economist prepare economic briefings presented to several corporate and government entities. She is the editor of e-EDGE, LAEDC's weekly economic newsletter and she writes the residential and nonresidential outlook for LAEDC’s Economic Forecast. Ms. Hynek also contributes bi-yearly to the newsletter of the Associated Wire Rope Fabricators’ (AWRF) Slingmakers economic outlook with Dr. Nancy Sidhu. She co-authored with Mr. Jack Kyser a report on The Business of Sports in Los Angeles County.

Ms. Hynek graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Business Economics and was a member of the business co-ed fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. She is a member of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) and is the current Vice President of the Los Angeles Chapter of NABE.
