This official kickoff event for InnovateLA 2016 celebrated the Grand Opening of the La Kretz Innovation Campus (LKIC) on Friday, October 7th. Mayor Eric Garcetti and other city leadership participated in a morning ribbon cutting program to mark the occasion. There were food trucks, DJs, live music, campus tours, tech demos and more.

LKIC is Los Angeles’ new cleantech industry hub – a place where entrepreneurs, engineers, scientists and policymakers can collaborate, promote and support the development of clean technologies and LA’s green economy. The campus is also home to LACI, a cleantech incubator founded in 2011 as a cluster-driven economic development initiative supported by the City of Los Angeles, LADWP and Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles. In just over four years LACI has become one of the leading cleantech incubators in the world. Thank you to the Mayor’s Office, LAWDP, LACI and everyone else who participated and helped make this event a success!

And remember, we have a lot more Innovate L.A. events on tap. View them HERE.
